Public School Teacher Development Project
This project coordinates the University's efforts to work with elementary and middle schools in Region 10 (covering Morningside Heights and Harlem), targeting areas that need improvement, such as rates of literacy and technological capabilities. The project provides technical assistance and in-service training for teachers and volunteers.

Research Experience for Teachers (RET)
RET enables four K–12 teachers to do research in the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) during the summer.

Summer Research Program for Science Teachers
Summer Research Program for Science Teachers
The Summer Research Program provides New York metropolitan area middle and high school science teachers with hands-on experience in scientific research so they can better understand the practice of science and better transmit to their students and fellow teachers a feeling for its practice. Each teacher spends two consecutive summers, eight weeks each summer, working as a labora-tory research assistant under the supervision of a Columbia University faculty mentor.
Eligibility Requirements: Full-time science teachers from New York City and Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, and Bergen Counties
Fee(s): No fees. The program includes a stipend.

Technology Integration Partnership (TIP)
TIP is designed for middle and high school science, technology, engineering, and mathematics teachers. One of its major goals is to increase the access and integration of new technologies into the curriculum of teachers working in the urban environment.
