The twenty-first-century construction project was the first major renovation to this structure in over half a century and included both building renovations and landscaping. The building renovations, which were completed in the winter of 2004, included the replacement of mechanical, air-conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems. Extensive interior renovations consisted of new code-complying egress stairs and building infrastructure. Additionally, new handicap-accessible amenities have been incorporated into President's House, making the residence ADA compliant. The initial phase of landscaping entailed the installation of fencing, exterior lighting, a decorative metal pergola, brick and flagstone paving, a drainage system and retaining walls, which are designed to support the use of the space as an outdoor venue for events. Landscaping was completed in the summer of 2005. Tentative Milestones
