Joe holds a B.S. and M.S. from St. John’s University, and a M.B.A. from The Columbia University School of Business. ![]() Name:Doug McKeanOrganization:Columbia University Facilities - Capital Project ManagementProfile:Doug is the Director of Programs and a Registered Architect with 26 years of design, construction and project management experience, as well as being a Registered Landscape Architect and a LEED Accredited Professional. Doug has managed many large complex projects, adaptive reuse, renovation, and new buildings from initial planning through design, construction and occupancy. Currently, Doug is responsible for projects totaling over $250 million, including work at Butler Library, Starr East Asia Library, Uris Hall, Baker Field, McVickar Hall, and the new Geochemistry Building at Columbia’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory Campus. Doug has also worked as an architect for several firms in New York City, as well as serving as the Associate Director for Design at Yale University. He is a licensed Architect and holds an MBA degree. His projects over eight years at Columbia include the Butler Library Renovation and improvements at the President’s House, Schermerhorn Extension, 3280 Broadway and 560 Riverside Drive. He is Columbia’s representative on the Design and Construction Committee for the Research Collections Storage Facility, a multiphase project underway in Princeton, NJ. Don came to Columbia from the project management consulting firm, O’Brien Kreitzberg, where he administered projects for New Jersey Transit, Newark Airport, and the City of New York. Prior to that he was Senior Architect in the Design and Construction group at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Before moving to the New York area, Don practiced architecture in California, working on medical, commercial, residential and education buildings in both public and private sectors.
